Prof Eamonn Quigley
Eamonn M M Quigley is the David M Underwood Professor of Medicine in Digestive Disorders, Co-Director of the Lynda K and David M Underwood Center for Digestive Health, Chief of the Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology and Vice-Chair for Research for the Department of Medicine at Houston Methodist Hospital and Profesor of Medicine at Weill Cornell Medical College. A graduate of University College Cork (UCC), Dr Quigley trained in internal medicine in Glasgow and Manchester and in gastroenterology at the Mayo Clinic and Manchester. In 1986 he joined the University of Nebraska Medical Center where he served as Chief of Gastroenterology and Hepatology. Returning to Cork in 1998 he served as Dean of the Medical School and principal investigator at the Alimentary Pharmabiotic Center from its inception. He assumed his current position in 2013. He served as president of the American College of Gastroenterology and the World Gastroenterology Organization.
