A/Prof Maria Cecilia Cabrera

Dr. María Cecilia Cabrera, MD, MSc, is a gastroenterologist and hepatologist at the Liver Unit of Guillermo Almenara Hospital (EsSalud) in Lima, Peru. She holds a Master’s degree in Clinical Epidemiology and is Professor of Medicine at the Universidad Nacional Mayor de San Marcos (UNMSM). Dr. Cabrera currently serves as President of the Peruvian Society of Gastroenterology and Vice President of the Pan-American Organization of Gastroenterology (OPGE). She is a member of the Hepatology Committee of the World Gastroenterology Organisation (WGO) and Associate Editor of the Peruvian Journal of Gastroenterology. Her academic and clinical interests include viral hepatitis, decompensated cirrhosis, metabolic-associated liver disease (MASLD), and medical education in hepatology.
